Arriving by plane

Turin has its own international airport, situated in Caselle. The airport is connected to the town by both train and bus services. The train for the moment reaches a secondary station, Torino Dora, while the bus reaches Porta Nuova and Porta Susa railway stations. Milan is not so far, and it is possible to fly to Milan and then reach Turin by train or by bus.

Arriving by train

Turin has two main railway stations, Porta Nuova and Porta Susa. Both of them are in the center of the town. Turin has good internal and international railway connections. To check schedules and timetables, you can use the web sites of the Italian railways (trenitalia).

To reach the Department

Turin public transportation is mostly based on buses and trams (beside, of course, taxis). A single subway line is active.

You can find maps of the town, including bus and tram lines, from the site of the local public transport company GTT.

To get to the institute from the two main train stations:

from Porta Nuova

Take tram n.9, direction Torino Esposizioni just across the main entrance of the station and get off at the stop Giuria est (after about 10 min). Alternatively, take bus n. 67 direction Ada Negri nord and get off at the stop Valperga Caluso (after about 10 min).

from Porta Susa

Take the subway direction Lingotto and get off at the station Nizza. From there walk back along via Nizza and turn right to Via Valperga Caluso. The Department is at the end of via Valperga Caluso (after about 400m) on your right.
