Description
The low energy theory of graphene, a two-dimensional carbon material is known to be described by a massless Dirac fermion. I analyse deformations and defects of the hexagonal lattice of graphene and show that in the low energy limit they lead to the effective coupling of the Dirac fermion to a Yukawa and a gauge field.
