This is the first of a series of seminars that will be held, with dates spanning the whole 2022/2023 academic year. Each seminar will be dedicated to one among the most influential and iconic papers published by Giorgio Parisi. In the first seminar Marc Mezard will speak about the paper of Parisi "Infinite number of order parameters for spin-glasses", and he will discuss the motivations for the Nobel Prize 2021. The seminar will be addressed to any physicist without specific knowledge and/or working experience in the particular field.
