Comments on Holographic Level/Rank Dualities

In this talk, I will discuss a holographic realisation in Type-IIB string theory of pure Chern-Simons theories, and focus on the level/rank dualities that they enjoy. After reviewing this topic from a purely quantum field theory perspective, I will present how level/rank dualities are reproduced by holography, detailing on the role of the string theory's gauge fields as background fields for symmetry currents.
