Travel information

Shuttle buses from L'Aquila bus station can be arranged on request (please check the relevant box in the registration form). Timetable and other details will be sent to participants who requested shuttle bus.

L'Aquila bus station is located west side and all main long distance buses normally stop or leave from there (including buses from/to Rome airports).

All people landing in Fiumicino or Ciampino can take a Gaspari or Flixbus direct bus to L’Aquila west side bus station (a.k.a. Amiternum or Hotel Amiternum). Timetable and route prices are available on their websites.

In order to get to LNGS independently from west side station, the fastest and easiest option is to take a taxi cab (normally available at west side station, if needed call Radio-Taxi service: +39 0862 25165).

Participants may also take TUA-ARPA buses from Rome Tiburtina bus station to L’Aquila (timetable). First bus stop in L’Aquila is the same as Gaspari and Flixbus routes above (west side bus station, a.k.a. Amiternum).

In order to get to LNGS independently, people travelling on TUA-ARPA buses either can take a taxi cab from there (as above) or they can get off at Terminal Bus Collemaggio (final bus stop for TUA-ARPA bus routes) and then take a city bus to Assergi (line M6).

People travelling by car from Rome/airports to L'Aquila can take highway A24 from Rome and take the exit L'Aquila Ovest or L'Aquila Est (1-hour drive trip approximately).

In order to reach LNGS by car, drivers can keep driving on A24 and take the exit Assergi: at the toll gate turn right and after 100 meters turn right again (via Giovanni Acitelli), you will find the laboratory gate on your left.
