Description
From late 90's, the phenomenon of neutrino oscillation has
gained an ever-growing experimental support, culminating in the direct
test of tau appearance that the CNGS is carrying on. Still, the strategy
for a systematic measurement of the leptonic CKM matrix remains vague,
mainly due to the lack of knowledge of the mixing angle between the first
and third neutrino mass eigenstates (theta_13). In this seminar, we will
review the status of the direct tests, with emphasis on the latest results
from OPERA, and the perspectives for the full determination of the
neutrino mixing matrix on the eve of the first measurements from T2K, RENO
and Double Chooz.
