Beam diagnostics and instrumentation for the Linac-4 at CERN

CERN's new H- Linac, named Linac-4, will represent the first part in the LHC injector chain upgrade. The machine will replace the current proton Linac and is designed to increase beam brilliance for LHC by a factor 2. The machine will accelerate 60 mA of H- ions up to 160 MeV for charge exchange injection into the PS Booster. The talk will give an overview of the machine itself as well as its beam diagnostics for the measurement of beam intensity, position, profile and beam loss. Part of the diagnostic instruments will be used for initial characterization of the beam while others will be used for everyday operation.
