Description
I will examine the idea of Grand Unification of the SM forces in the composite-Higgs scenario. Electroweak symmetry breaking is triggered by a composite scalar doublet, emerging as a Nambu-Goldstone boson from a spontaneous global symmetry breaking in a strongly interacting sector living at the TeV scale. The evolution of gauge couplings can be predicted at leading order if such global symmetry is a simple group containing the SM gauge group, and precise unification is obtained if the right-handed top quark is also composite. I will show how minimal consistent models for composite Grand Unification Theories can be built, and outline their phenomenological implications, in essence light colored triplet scalars and several fourth-family-like fermions.
