Relic neutrino detection using beta unstable nuclei

Description

I will discuss how cosmological neutrino capture by unstable nucei, such as tritium represent, the best way, to date to detect the cosmological neutrino background (CNB), predicted by the standard hot big bang cosmological model.

After a general introduction on the features and propoerties of NCB, I will review its direct detection perspectives using different ideas and then focus on NCB capture by tritium nuclei.

Finally, I will present the Ptolemy project, its scientific goals and its main
challenges.
