Wilson Operators: a Supergeometric Perspective

by Carlo Alberto Cremonini

Europe/Rome
Description

In this seminar we will introduce the basic definitions of supergeometry with particular emphasis to integration theory. The structure of differential forms on supermanifolds is hugely enhanced with respect to the standard bosonic case and the notion of “top form” becomes highly non-trivial. In the physical context this reflects the necessity of invoking new techniques in order to
write geometric actions as differential forms.
In the second part of the seminar we will apply this formalism to the description of Wilson Operators and show the many advantages that such formulation allows. At the end we will mention some other applications of the framework, trying to highlight its versatility and originality.
