Description
The observation of proton radioactivity from exotic nuclei lying beyond the proton drip-line has provided a unique probe to test nuclear structure at the extremes of nuclear stability. In the present seminar, the theoretical interpretation of half lives and branching ratios for proton decays to ground and excited states, will be discussed, showing how it is possible to derive important information from the correct interpretation of the data, like the assignment of the quantum numbers of the decaying state, and nuclear structure and shape of the emitter.
