Description
The results obtained for the structure and thermodynamics of two fluid
models -
dipolar fluid and patchy particles - will be presented to demonstrate that the
presence of short range anisotropic interactions promotes self assembling, may lead
to percolation and gelation, and influences strongly the phase transitions.
Particular emphasis will be given to the case of patchy particles with dissimilar
bonding sites.
