Feedback from (a,n) workshop
There's a plan to measure directly (a,n) yields and it might be possible to measure directly materials that go in the detector. Which skips the need of knowing the material.
LLRT 24-27 April
We agreed to send 2 abstracts:
- Iza on PE. It should include comparison of PMT vs SiPM. In this framework it must be mentioned for comparison that LZ PMTs don't work in LAr and have a ~5mm anular dead area from the 3".
- Vicente on the assay campaign in a coherent way.
Radioactive budget
The new results on the Steering Module chips are good compared to expectations and current budget is 0.124 in 100 ty. The measurement of the FEP insulator by itself doesn't offer strong limits and is the leading contribution.
Razeto will check the status of the cable alternative. He says it is something they have not yet done but is in their to do list.
Tomasz reports a Po-210 measurement of MCP resistors of 17 Bq/kg
Radon diffusion
Busto reports on the measurement of the Rn transparency of a 3 layer bag. It is 63%, which is below our expectations. More measurements of multiple bags are foreseen and a measurement of a 3 mm acrylic panel (15 x 15 cm)
Gd alternatives in Russia
Maxim reports on two clean Gd molecules obtained in Russia after purification, in the order of the best results for SuperK. It needs detailed evaluation.
