Description

Van der Waals heterostructures of layered materials such as graphene, hexagonal boron nitride and transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) have recently attracted attention for the development of synthetic materials with new electronic properties. By using Chemical Vapour Deposition we have successfully grown h-BN and MoS2 on epitaxial graphene/SiC as well as on a graphene sponge. Microscopy and spectroscopy results allowed to gain an insight into the growth process, with the aim of increasing the 2D crystal size and uniformity.
