Alcune considerazioni sull'equazione di Boltzmann

L. Boltzmann, starting from a mechanical particle system,
derived in 1872 his famous equation, to give a reduced efficient
description of the behaviour of a rarefied gas.

Although this equation is largely used in Physics, a full mathematical
justification of its validity is still missing.

We discuss the very few results in this direction and the very many open
problems
