Towards Explicit States in a Sigma Model

Description
In the CP1 sigma model, fractional instantons nonpertubatively generate a mass gap. To understand how they do it, we wish to explicitly calculate the ground state and first excited state wave functions using the known equivalence to the XXX spin chain. We describe a novel two-step procedure for the calculation of the continuum limit of these wave functions.
