How to Reach the School

By plane

Milan is served by three international airports, Milano-Linate, Milano-Malpensa and Bergamo-Orio al Serio.

Linate (airport website). The city center can be reached with the urban bus line 73: The ticket costs 1,50€ and can be purchased in any newsstand.

Malpensa (airport website). Milan can be reached by train (to Central, Cadorna or Garibaldi station) or by bus (to Central station).

Orio al Serio (airport website). Milan can be reached by bus (to Central station).

By public transport

By train to Morbegno. Morbegno is on the Milano Centrale-Tirano line (line number RE8) and many trains are available during the day. Check the Trenitalia website for the schedule.

By bus to Gerola Alta. The bus line A15 connects the train station in Morbegno to Gerola Alta. Buses are not very frequent, so please check the schedule carefully. The ticket can be purchased at the STPS ticket office (here's the full list) and the cost is 2,60€.

Unfortunately, there are no buses to Laveggiolo.

A shuttle service will be provided from the Morbegno train station to Gerola Alta and Laveggiolo. Cars will depart from Morbegno on the following times (in every case, after the train arrival):

  • Sunday 11am
  • Sunday 3pm
  • Monday 11am

Please, contact us in advance in order to organize the service.

By car

In order to reach the start of the trails that lead to the refuge simply drive up to Morbegno and then head to Valgerola. According to the chosen path, the car can be parked in Gerola Alta (here) or in Laveggiolo (here). Both car parks are located very close to the trail.
