Description

The MM-THGem is an amplification device analogous to a ThGem which uses meshes to shape the electric field within the holes. It is hoped this device can reduce the instability and tendency to spark seen in conventional thick gems. Results from runs with $^{55}$Fe and $\alpha$ sources in low pressure SF$_6$ are presented.
