Non-equilibrium thermodynamics of quantum processes

I will introduce the field of stochastic thermodynamics of quantum processes, illustrating recent developments aimed at addressing interesting non-equilibrium processes that are affected by non-classical fluctuations and enhanced by quantum control. I will address both theoretical proposals aimed, for instance, at sharpening the fundamental Landauer principle, and experimental endeavours in nuclear magnetic resonance, optomechanics, and intra-cavity ultra-cold atoms. This framework will allow the investigation on the emergence of thermodynamic irreversibility from the underlying microscopic quantum dynamics
