The precision frontier in simulations for the LHC

In this talk I will review recent developments and the status of simulations for the LHC, with particular emphasis on higher-order effects. I will outline possible areas to further improve the theoretical accuracy of our predictions and suggest some measurement strategies to fill gaps in our understanding or to validate our simulations.
