The digitalised ecosystem we are using is providing several opportunities. Nevertheless, all the ecosystem is based on the trust between who provides the service and who receives the service. The current situation on Cyber-Security does not help to establish this trust. In fact, organizations are challenged with improving their security posture because of the mounting pressures of:
• threats always more complex and sophisticated
• need for growth. Digitalisation has produced a strong acceleration of transitions. The quick adoption is a necessity to survive. Unfortunately adopting technologies quickly that are not created to be secure, does not improve the Cyber-Security of the entire ecosystem
• compliance to security controls is something that should mitigate the risk to receive a Cyber-Attack. Nevertheless, if non-compliance is associated to penalties, this is becoming a further issue. CxOs need to worry about not being hacked but also being compliant.
On the other hand investment on Cyber-Security needs to be limited. How to optimise the investment reducing the overall risks? Is Artificial Intelligence something that needs to be taken in consideration and why? Finally, has the digital ecosystem just introduced risks or are there also opportunities?
