In his fruitful academic career, Prof. Andrea Vitturi has made so many crucial contributions to nuclear structure and nuclear reactions that is hard to restrict the scientific program for a Workshop in his honour to just a few themes: giant resonances, inelastic excitations, break-up and transfer reactions, coupled channels, Glauber theory, pairing interactions, the role of the continuum in reactions involving weakly-bound nuclei, clusters in nuclei, shell-model, many-body models, algebraic and collective models, dynamical symmetries and quantum phase transitions, to name a few of the topics that he has investigated along the years, always at the cutting edge of research in nuclear physics.
A group of fellows will meet in Padova to celebrate his career and discoveries, in the true spirit of a workshop, starting from recollections up to the current state-of-the-art in the field of nuclear structure and reactions.
The workshop will take place over 2 days with selected oral contributions.
