By plane:

  • BOLOGNA AIRPORT
Bologna airport named “Guglielmo Maroni” is 50 km far from Ferrara.

The second best choice, for those coming by plane, is the Venice airport “Marco Polo” (about 1 hour and 15 minutes by car).

Italian and European cities all the year.

Verona airport “Valerio Catullo” is 106 km far from Ferrara (about 1 hour and 20 minutes).
Ferrara/Verona rail line is not direct, it is necessary to change train in Padua or Bologna; the airport

The Ferrara Railway station lies on the Bologna-Venezia line and is the terminus for the Ferrara-Ravenna-Rimini line. There are direct trains to Bologna, Venice, Florence, Rome, Naples, Padova, Ravenna, Rovigo, Verona and Vienna. More information on http://www.trenitalia.it.
The train station of Ferrara is not far away from the city centre as you can see on the map.

By car:
Ferrara lies on the A13 Bologna-Padova highway (http://www.autostrade.it) which is, in turn, connected to the A1 highway going from Milan to Bologna, Florence, Rome and Naples, and to the A14 highway, which connects Bologna with cities on the Adriatic coast (Ravenna, Rimini, Ancona, Bari)
