Current cosmological observations are in agreement with the standard cosmological model of a homogeneous and isotropic Universe at large scales, based on General Relativity and on the standard model (SM) of particle physics, complemented with a mechanism for the generation of primordial perturbations, i.e., the inflationary paradigm. When interpreted in minimal extensions of this ΛCDM...

The European Space Agency's Euclid Mission will be launched in 2022. During its six-year mission, the Euclid satellite will survey nearly 40% of the sky, providing scientists with an extraordinarily large amount of data that will impact many aspects of modern cosmology and astrophysics. The Euclid Mission's primary science goals are targeted towards constraining the nature of two of the most...

I will report on the use of INFN HPC resources made by the INFN TEONGRAV group. The focus of the numerical simulations performed within the TEONGRAV collaboration is on the modelling of compact object binaries, as sources of gravitational waves and electromagnetic signals, and on the study of the formation channels of black hole binaries.

We show the properties of the gravitational wave signal emitted after the merger of a binary neutron star system. We show that the post-merger phase can be subdivided into three phases: an early post-merger phase (where the quadrupole mode and a few subdominant features are active), the intermediate post-merger phase (where only the quadrupole mode is active) and, when remnant survives for...

An out-of-equilibrium, isolated and uniform over-density of massive particles relax towards a quasi-stationary state close to virial equilibrium through a monolithic collapse driven by its own mean gravitational field. If the system initially breaks spherical symmetry and has some angular momentum such a dissipationless dynamics may give rise to a disk with persistent far...
