The project aims creating ultrafast X-ray holographic cameras able to record 3D images of microscopic samples and of their internal parts with nanometer resolution. The proposal is based on a new implementation of phase-contrast holography. As practical solution, a combination of polycapillary lenses, X-Ray CCD arrays and XFEL sources enables focusing, magnification and phase contrast imaging,...

Standard Positron Emission Tomography (PET) allows to determine spatial and sometimes also temporal distribution of concentrations of selected substances in the body based on production of 2 gamma quanta from e+e- reaction, with energies of 511 keV.
Positron emitted inside the human body can either annihilate directly with one of the
electrons or it creates the quasi-bound ...

Sphalerite is one of the most common natural zinc sulfide (ZnS) mineral commonly present at Santander, Spain. Here we present X-ray absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy and X-ray element distribution mapping aimed to characterize the inhomogeneous (zonal) distribution of Cu, Ni, Co, and Fe atoms and its effect on the Zn local environment in sphalerite. A linear combination fit of XANES...
