Scientific Programme

This workshop focuses on the state of the art and on the future developments in Cherenkov light imaging techniques for applications in High Energy Physics, Nuclear Physics and Astroparticle Physics, with particular attention to the high pixelation photosensor approach using small PMTs and its application in neutrino detection. The topics of the Workshop will be:

  • Recent progress of the PMT developments
  • High-voltage generation, electronic read-out and signal processing
  • multi-PMT systems for photodetection
  • Calibration systems
  • Simulation and Event Reconstruction
  • Low Background Materials and Assay
The Workshop program will consist of plenary sessions and poster exhibitions.

Meeting structure

The Workshop will have plenary sessions with invited talks giving a broad overview of the topics of the Workshop and selected contributed talks on more specific subjects of general interest.
A special area will be dedicated to poster contributions, which can be visited during the Workshop. The poster sessions will be held to give participants the opportunity to show their work (more information are below).
Researchers willing to present the latest results on topics related to the main topic of the workshop are invited to submit an abstract (max 2000 words) to the organizers (send mail). The proposal will be submitted to a selection committee before acceptance. The deadline for abstracts submission is June 15.

An area where the companies of interest for the topics of the workshop can adverise their products will be arranged. More information can be found here.

A visit to the KM3NeT DOM integration site is planned for the first day.

Poster session

Participants are invited to present posters in fields of research related to the conference topics. If you wish to present a poster, please submit an abstract here and select "Poster" in the field "Presentation type". Since space is limited, poster proposals will be submitted to a selection committee before acceptance. The organizers particularly encourage younger participants to play an active role in the workshop by presenting their work in the poster session. The deadline for abstracts submission is June 25.

The maximum width for a poster is 95 cm. A standard height of 119 cm is suggested. We suggest using the A0 format (84×119 cm2) or the 4×4 US Letter format (34"×44").
