How to reach the city centre from the airport
By public transportation: Outside the "Fontanarossa" airport (arrival level) about 30 m on the right side you will find an AMT bus stop. The ALIBUS line (also having the number 457) runs every 20 minutes, from 5.30 am to midnight, from the Airport to the City Centre and the Central Station.MapCity
You can buy a bus ticket (4€ for the ALIBUS, 1€ for other buses) at the kiosk located inside the terminal or the one right outside the arrival terminal, near the bus stop. Remember to validate your ticket at the automatic counter inside the bus once you get in.
By Taxi: Taxis are available at any time outside the airport. The cost ranges from € 20 to € 35 depending on the place to reach. Call the Radio-taxi service (+39-095-330966+39-095-330966) which usually offers better fares.
How to reach Laboratori Nazionali del Sud (LNS)
By BRT1 line: the BRT1 line is a fast bus which connects several points in the city (also the city center). To reach the LNS stop at "Cittadella Ovest". Please, be aware of the buses having a different route going when going to the centre! (MapBRT)
By AMT bus: You can also take the AMT bus line 432 and get off at stop "Cittadella Ovest" (in front of LNS) or line 449 (in the viale A. Doria near LNS).
Note: AMT buses (with the exception of BRT1 and ALIBUS) usually have quite long intervals (30-60 min) with no precise timetables. We recommend not to rely on them unless you see them arriving at the stop. For a full list and map of lines, visit http://www.amt.ct.it/ website.
On foot: It is also possible to reach LNS by walking - just reach the main street Via Etnea and go up and up, until there is a four-lane road Viale Andrea Doria and a large roundabout, turn left and walk cca one more kilometer along viale A.Doria (use the map to be sure). The walk is rather pleasant (at least its first part) and it takes about 45 min from Piazza Stesicoro.
