Description
We will resume our experience with porting Linux to a PowerPC embbeded processor hardwired inside the Xilinx Virtex-5 FXT FPGA; the FPGA is included in a commercial Avnet evaluation board used as development system. The presentation will cover the practical aspects of the porting procedure. To stress system performance, a Linux driver for DMA data transfer has been written. Regarding future enhancements, some work can be done to improve the total throughput data transfer between DMA and the GbE link.
