Description
The discovery of signatures compatible with dark matter candidates at the LHC would be a revolutionary milestone for particle
physics and cosmology.
A discovery, however, would require a deep understanding of the properties of the new state, in order to embed it
into a theoretically motivated scenario of new physics.
I will explore the possibility to distinguish and characterise the spin of dark matter candidates at the LHC in different scenarios.
I will consider the effective field theory approach and simplified models and show how in some scenarios the DM spin can be
partly correlated with the shape of relevant kinematic distributions.
