Description

Dark Matter is one of the most challenging puzzles of modern physics. Its undisputable evidence so far comes solely from its gravitational interaction, but it is believed to have particle nature. The Weakly Interacting Massive Particle (WIMP) still remains the best-motivated candidate. After a brief introduction and motivation to the WIMP paradigm, the WIMP direct detection principles will be explained, and a review of the leading experiments and their recent results will be given.
