The recent observations of gravitational waves by the Advanced LIGO and Virgo network have opened a new window of exploration to the Universe. The first discovery of gravitational waves and all the colors of the light from the coalescence of a binary neutron-star merger unveiled long-standing open mysteries, starting from what are the progenitors of short gamma-ray bursts to where and how the heavy elements form in the Universe. The talk will describe the largest ever multi-messenger campaign, its amazing results, and the new open mysteries.
