An open ASY-EOS II Collaboration meeting will be held in Catania and Caltagirone from Thursday December the 14th to Friday 15th. The meeting will be devoted to discuss the issues related to the preparation of a new experimental campaign at GSI aiming to measure neutron and proton elliptic-flows and pion ratio in order to investigate the high density dependence of the symmetry energy of the nuclear equation of state.
This collaboration meeting fits with the past tradition of the ASY-EOS workshops, a series of topical conferences organized in Sicily by the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare, Sezione di Catania and the Laboratori Nazionali del Sud (LNS) and University of Catania. The aim of the ASY-EOS topical conferences has consisted of strengthening the link of scientific communities involved in the study of the symmetry energy of asymmetric nuclear matter.
As in the tradition, during the collaboration meeting, special attention will be devoted to the valorization of Sicilian cultural resources and the dissemination of scientific and technologic research. Thus, one of the two days of the collaboration meeting will take place in Caltagirone.
Participation to the collaboration meeting is open to everyone is interested and not restricted to the ASY-EOS II collaboration members.
