HOW TO REACH SYRACUSE (Siracusa) FROM AIRPORT
At the International Airport Catania – Bellini/Fontanarossa
BY BUS:
Outside the "Bellini/Fontanarossa" airport (Arrival level) about 100 m on the right side (see this map) you will find the bus stop (“Interbus - Etna Transporti” shelter).
The Bus line to Syracuse is “Interbus”. Here the link to the website to know the time table (AEROPORTO CATANIA -> SIRACUSA). At Syracuse the bus arrives at Terminal Bus - Corso Umberto I - n. 196 (opposite railway station).
BY TRAIN:
Get by bus (ALIBUS) the Catania Central Train Station.

To arrive to the Catania Central Train Station use the AMT line ALIBUS. The AMT line ALIBUS runs every 20 minutes, from 5:30 am to midnight, from the Airport to the City Centre. Get off at Train Central Station (“Stazione EST”). Here are the ALIBUS route map and timetable. You can buy the bus ticket (4€) at the airport or on board. Remember to validate your ticket at the automatic counter inside the bus once you get in.
For connection by train between Catania and Syracuse, look at the “Trenitalia” website.
BY TAXI:
Taxis are available at any time outside the Arrival Terminal of the airport. The cost should be more than € 90 according to the place to reach.

There is the possibility of using the Radio-Taxi company service with English speaking operator (tel. +39-095 8833). Contacts and info for reservation can be found in the website. In order to get a Radio Taxi at the airport you have to phone, and you will be told the name of the cab which will pick you up (It usually arrives within 10 minutes). Pay attention: Radio-Taxi pick you up outside the airport at Departure level (first floor) not at Arrival level (ground floor) where you only find taxi of other companies. More information will be provided hereafter about reduced fare for Participants at the Conference that will use Radio-Taxi company service.
BY CAR:
It is not difficult to reach Syracuse coming from the airport. However, we suggest you to use a good map or a GPS navigation system. Moreover, the Ortigia island is a restricted traffic zone during weekend-end and night. If you are planning to come by car we suggest you to ask in advance your hotel if parking service and access pass into Ortigia are available.
AT SYRACUSE
In Syracuse you can use public transportation. Electric buses, called “Siracusa d’Amare”, are available (bus ticket 1€@90 minute)
