Travel Information

You can reach the Workshop venue in the following ways:

 

• By train to Piombino Marittima, ferry-boat to Portoferraio. A meeting shuttle will be available upon request to connect participants to the meeting site from the Portoferraio harbour.

• By car to Piombino, ferry-boat to Portoferraio, a short drive to La Biodola (10km). Since parking is limited at the Hotel Hermitage, we encourage participants to use the meeting buses as much as possible.

Train
Italian Railways
Piombino Marittima station is located just across the road from the harbor so you can easily transfer to the ferry-boat.

To reach Piombino Marittima station from Fiumicino Airport in Rome : 

you can take the “Leonardo Express” to Termini train station (a direct train which takes about 30 min).  Then from Roma Termini  take a first  train to “Campiglia Marittima”  (regional train takes about 3 h, “Frecciabianca” takes about 2h) and then a second train to “Piombino Marittima” (about 30 min).
