Description
We are now planning to measure the kaonic helium-3 3d->2p x-rays at J-PARC in Japan. This is not only the first measurement in the world but also the first physics experiment at the J-PARC Hadron hall. Our goal is to obtain convince information of deeply-bound kaons. The strong interaction between kaon and helium-3, K-ppn system, is still unknown and some theories have predicted the deeply-bound kaon states with the K-ppn system. To determine the strong interaction shift of 2p level with a few eV precision, we use three well-established methods in the KEK-PS E570 experiment: (1) high energy resolution by using silicon drift detectors (SDDs), (2) in-situ energy calibration, and (3) stopped kaon selection. In this seminar, the outlook of the J-PARC E17 experiment will be shown.
