Description
In 2015 LHC started a new run with proton-proton collisions at the unprecedented centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. Searches for new physics have been performed by ATLAS and CMS analysing several experimental signatures with a data sample of about 3 fb^{-1} per experiment.
In this seminar we review early results from ATLAS and CMS on high-mass di-photon events.
Limits on the production cross section * BR of a scalar resonance (ATLAS) or of a Randall-Sundrum graviton in extra dimensions models (CMS) are presented. A small excess of events with respect to the background-only hypothesis has been found by both experiments for an invariant mass of about 750 GeV. This excess is not statistically conclusive and more data are needed.
