Description

For large-N confining asymptotically-free gauge theories with no perturbative mass scale we investigate the compatibility between the asymptotic freedom of the S-matrix and the planar duality of disk amplitudes of their would-be string solutions. Several implications for any would-be string solution of large-N QCD with massless quarks follow.
