Description

The Compact Accelerator System for Performing Astrophysical Research (CASPAR) is located at the Sanford Underground Research Facility and has recently taken up operations. The single-ended accelerator provides beams of protons or alpha particles with energies up to 1 MeV, which are used for nuclear cross section measurements with astrophysical motivations.
In this seminar the status of CASPAR will be presented, giving an overview of two recent experiments to study (p,γ) and (α,n) reactions and an outlook on the scientific program.
