Description
After a pedagogical introduction to the observational and theoretical status of inflation (with a particular emphasis on the CMB observations by Planck and BICEP2), we discuss how the notion of universality classes can be applied to inflation. Moreover, we will see how a large class of inflationary models give rise to identical predictions, that can be tested in the near future, when a non-minimal coupling is introduced between the gravitational and inflationary sectors.
