Description
Shape transitions and shape coexistences are expected to appear in slightly neutron rich osmium isotopes. In particular, the triaxial degree of freedom plays an important role because a transition from the gamma soft 190Os to the oblate deformed 196Os is predicted by mean field calculations. Precisely the nucleus 196Os has been recently studied in the AGATA campaign at LNL to disentangle the collective character of this isotopic chain. In this seminar I will present the results ofsymmetry conserving configuration mixing methods based on Gogny energy density functionals for the isotopes 190Os-198Os. These methods include angular momentum and particle number restoration and shape mixing (axial and triaxial) in a self-consistent manner. The results of the calculations will be compared and discussed with the available experimental data.
