lecture Global Navigation Satellite Systems for Positioning and Time Transfer
Date/Time: Thursday, 26 January 2012 - 15:00 (Europe/Rome)
Location: Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati, Via Enrico Fermi 40, Frascati ( Aula B. Touschek )
Chairperson: A. Jaeggi (Astronomical Institute of the University of Bern)

In a first part the principles of positioning and navigation using measurements from Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) are introduced. The GNSS observation equations are discussed and the scientific contributions of GNSS for geodesy and geodynamics, e.g., in the frame of the International GNSS Service (IGS), are highlighted.
