Description
The precise knowledge of neutrino-nucleus interactions in the GeV region is a crucial ingredient for the analysis of ongoing and future long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments. This requires a consistent treatment of nuclear effects over a wide kinematical domain, going from the quasi-elastic to the deep-inelastic regime. In this talk I will give an overview of the current status and challenges of theoretical models, focussing in particular on the “superscaling” model, based on the connection between electron- and neutrino-scattering. The validation of the model against electron scattering data and the comparison with neutrino data from the MiniBooNE, T2K and MINERvA experiments will be shown and the possible implementation of the model in Monte Carlo event generators will be discussed.
