Description
Spectators are scalar fields that are dynamically inactive during inflation. An example is the Higgs. I discuss the fluctuations of spectators during inflation and their subsequent relaxation to vacuum after inflation. These may impose constraints on the energy scale of inflation and on coupling constants in various models. I demonstrate these with three examples: the Standard Model Higgs; Higgs coupled to inflaton; and a Higgs portal DM model.
