Description
The g factor is an important observable in the study of the quantum mechanics of nuclear excitations, being sensitive to single-particle aspects of the wave function. It provides us an excellent tool to test the validity of nuclear theories. In this talk, first of all I will present an overview on the recent development on g-factor measurements for both stable and radioactive ion beams. Then recent results from ALTO (France) and RIKEN (Japan) will be discussed.
