Abstract: The seminar will start with the theoretical motivations behind quantum computing, including a brief overview of some fundamental results in computational complexity theory. I will then introduce superconducting qubits and how to implement single qubit gates. I will then describe how Rigetti designs and builds its processors, focusing on our modular chiplet architecture. I will conclude with a practical overview of how to run quantum algorithms on a real Rigetti system.
