Description

Abstract:  Baryon acoustic oscillations in the early universe leave a distinctive signature in the galaxy distribution at later times. This feature provides a standard rod which can be used to constrain the expansion history of the universe over the last thirteen billion years. In practice, the rod is usually standardized slightly.  I'll summarize recent constraints and how they can be tightened with next generation standardization methods.
