December 5th 2013

Auditorium Bruno Touschek
Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati - INFN

The year 2013 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the first electron-positron collisions, obtained by the storage ring AdA in Orsay. The first operation of AdA was in February  1961 at Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati. Because of the very low efficiency of the particles injection AdA was transferred to Orsay, in the Laboratoire de l’Accélérateur Linéaire where a high intensity LINAC was available. The first experimental evidence of e+e- collisions opened in 1963 the era of electron-positron physics.
To celebrate this event, LAL together LNF hosted in Orsay a special edition of the "Bruno Touschek Memorial Lectures" (BTML) in September 13th, 2013.
This year AdA, the first e+e- storage ring, has been named an EPS historic site.
The Frascati edition of BTML2013 will take place on December 5th, with a physics programme dedicated to the latest results from AMS experiment.
