Catania is connected to many Italian and international airports by frequent flights operated by several airlines.

How to reach Catania downtown from Catania Airport

By public transports: Outside the "Fontanarossa" airport terminal (arrival level, on the right) there is a public bus stop of Azienda Municipale Trasporti (AMT www.amt.ct.it). The AMT line number 457 (nicknamed "Alibus") runs every 20 minutes, from 5.30 am to midnight (bus 457 timetable and route ), from the Airport to the Central Station. Inside the airport terminal there is an automatic ticket machine close to the information office; otherwise you can buy tickets at newspaper shop.Ticket price: €1.00. Remember to validate your ticket at the box placed inside the bus upon boarding or before the bus departs.

By Taxi: There is a Radio-taxi service (+39-095-330966) which usually offers good fares. Taxis are available at any time outside the airport. Taxis are also available outside the Central Station.

To reach via Etnea from the Central Station you can take bus numbers 1-4, 429, 432, 448 or 449. The suggested Hotels are located nearby via Etnea.

A shuttle bus service between the city center and the Laboratori Nazionali del Sud will be organized. The shuttle bus will be leaving from Piazza Stesicoro in front of S. Biagio Church, at 8:30 am. Piazza Stesicoro is placed near the hotels listed on the website, along via Etnea where the escavations of the Roman anphitheater are. A map can be found in the third circular of the school.
