OFFICIAL LANGUAGE
The Official language of the MICROS 2009 Symposium will be English.
All abstracts, papers and presentations must be in English.


HOW TO REACH VERONA, ITALY

By plane

Verona International “Valerio Catullo” airport is the closest airport to Verona. A regular bus shuttle and taxi services link the airport terminal with the main Verona railway station (Verona Porta Nuova). Shuttle buses run approximately every 20 minutes from 06:10 to 23:30.
Buses are much cheaper than taxis.

Alternatively, you can land in:

Venice International “Marco Polo” airport. A regular bus service and taxis link the airport terminal to Venezia-Mestre railway station (half an hour trip). From there it is possible to reach Verona Porta Nuova railway station by train in one hour and a half.

Milan International Malpensa and Linate airports. A regular bus service and taxis link the airport terminals to Milano Centrale railway station in one hour. From there it is possible to reach Verona Porta Nuova railway station in one hour and a half.

Cheap flights can be booked for:

Bergamo Orio al Serio International airport,
Brescia International “Gabriele D'Annunzio” airport, or
Treviso International “San Giuseppe” airport.
From these airports, bus services take you to Milano, to Verona and to Venezia-Mestre railway station, respectively, in approximately one hour.
From Milano and Venezia-Mestre railway stations it is possible to reach Verona Porta Nuova railway station in one hour and a half.

By train

The main railway station is VERONA PORTA NUOVA, which is the crossroads of both the Milano – Venezia railway line and the Brennero – Roma railway line.
There are direct trains, InterCity trains and Fast trains from all the major Italian railway stations throughout the day.

By car

Verona can be reached by car through the Italian highway network:

• highway A4 from west (from Torino/Turin-Milano) or east (from Trieste-Venezia)
• highways A1 and A14 (till Bologna and then A13), A13 (till Padova and then A4) from the South
• highways A22, A23, A27 and A28 from the North (from Brennero, Tarvisio, Belluno and Pordenone, respectively; and then A4).

BADGES
All Registrants are kindly asked to wear badge during MICROS2009 Symposium. It will be specifically required for access to scientific sessions, lunches, exhibition area and social events.
Registered Companions and Exhibitors are admitted to the exhibition area only and must wear the badge they will be given at Conference Desk.

LUNCHES
Lunches are included in the Conference registration fee and will be served at the “Hotel San Marco” site of the Symposium. Companions wishing to have their lunch at the “Hotel San Marco”-Congress Centre may purchase vouchers directly at the Conference Desk.

OFFICIAL INVITATIONS
Official letters of invitation to the Symposium can be provided to participants upon request. Such letters are sent only for visa and permission purposes under no obligation for the Organizing Committee. Requests should be sent to the MICROS 2009 Conference Secretariat: MICROS2009@LNL.INFN.IT

CURRENCY
The Italian/European currency is EURO.

CLIMATE
The weather in October in Verona is generally fairly sunny, with temperatures in the range from 19°C / 66°F (max) to 13°C / 55°F (min). Rainfalls and wind are however possible, therefore rainwear/overcoat and sweaters are recommended.
