Description
The physics case for a direct search of Dark Matter candidates like WIMPs is examined, stressing the advantages of a directionality approach. Promising results are reported from an intense R&D program devoted to nano-imaging of short nuclear recoils by new-generation nuclear emulsions. A preliminary design of the experimental set-up under project by the NEWS Collaboration is presented.
